Mouse Test

Check all five buttons and the wheel, and catch clicks that register twice.

The browser only sees what your system and driver pass on, so this is not a hardware diagnosis.

Double-click threshold

Possible unintended double-click 0

Inside the test area, back and forward clicks are blocked from navigating where possible, but some browsers may still go back or forward.

Last 20 presses

Nothing is stored; reloading clears the counts.

    How to use

    1. Keep the pointer in the test area and press each button; it lights up on the on-screen mouse.
    2. Roll the wheel up and down to count scrolls.
    3. Press each button once, slowly, and watch for "Possible unintended double-click".
    4. Try another threshold (50, 80 or 120 ms) and press "Reset" to start over.

    Examples

    Left · 23.4 ms · Suspected

If you press the left button once and the log shows "Left · 23.4 ms · Suspected", two presses arrived closer together than the 80 ms threshold. Press a few more times to see whether it keeps happening.

    FAQ

How is a suspected double-click detected?

When the same button goes down twice within the threshold (80 ms by default), it's counted as suspected. You can pick 50, 80 or 120 ms.

Will a deliberate fast double-click be flagged?

It can be if it's faster than the threshold, so press once at a time when checking. This page doesn't give a "normal" figure.

The back or forward button left the page.

The test area tries to block it, but some browsers don't allow that. Your log may be cleared when you come back, so test again.

    A button doesn't light up.

The browser only sees what your system and driver pass on. A button remapped to another function, or taken by the system first, may not show up, and this page shows five buttons only (left, middle, right, back, forward).

Can this tell me my mouse is faulty?

No. It shows what the browser receives, not a hardware diagnosis. Comparing results on another port or computer can help narrow down the cause.

Are my clicks saved or sent?

No. They stay in this tab, disappear when you reload, and are never sent anywhere.
