Keyboard Test
Press a key. If it arrives, it lights up and stays marked.
This checks that keys register. Text typed in the wrong input mode belongs in the keyboard converter. Korean Keyboard Converter
Click here, then press any key.
Last keys
Nothing yet.
Fn cannot be detected: the keyboard handles it internally and the browser never sees it.
Windows/⌘, PrintScreen, media and 한/영·한자 keys may be taken by the operating system before the page sees them.
A Korean input mode makes no difference here — keys are read by position, not by the letter they produce.
Everything happens on this device.
How to use
- Click into the test area, then press keys one at a time.
- A key lights up while it is held and keeps a mark once it has been proved.
- Hold several at once to see how many register together, and watch the log for repeats and chatter.
Examples
The key that sometimes does nothing
Press it a few times. If it never lights up, nothing is arriving; if it lights up every time, the problem is somewhere else.
How many keys at once
Hold A, S and D together and the status line reads three. A board that stops at two in some combinations is showing its rollover limit.
A letter that doubles itself
A switch that bounces sends a second press within milliseconds of letting go. The log marks that as suspected chatter.
Text typed in the wrong mode
If the keys all work but the letters came out as gksdud, that is a different tool. Korean Keyboard Converter
FAQ
How is this different from the keyboard converter or a typing test?
This only checks whether a key physically registers. Converting text typed in the wrong input mode is the keyboard converter; measuring speed is a typing test. Korean Keyboard Converter
Some keys don't light up.
Fn never reaches the browser, and the Windows, PrintScreen, media and Korean input keys can be taken by the operating system first. If another key does nothing, the cable or the board itself is worth suspecting.
Is what I type saved?
No. Only key names appear on screen, and nothing is sent or stored anywhere.
