Microphone Test
Speak and the bar moves. Record a few seconds and hear it back.
The meter shows relative digital input level; it is not a sound level (dB) meter.
Almost no sound is coming in. Pick another microphone or check that it isn't muted.
This browser can't record here, so only the level meter is available.
Sound stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no download.
How to use
- Press "Start microphone" and allow access.
- Choose a microphone and speak; if the bar moves, sound is coming in.
- Set a length, press "Record" and talk.
- Play it back right away to hear how you sound.
Examples
−30 dBFS
If normal speech sits around −30 dBFS but loud speech shows "Too loud", try lowering your microphone input volume a little.

A call, meeting or recording app may be holding it. Close that app and try again.
Is the level a real decibel reading?
No. It's relative to the maximum digital input (dBFS), so it can't measure how loud the room is.
There's no record button.
Browsers without recording support show the level meter only.
