FAQ

What does BPM mean?

Beats per minute. At 120 BPM there's a beat every 0.5 seconds; at 60 BPM, every second.

How does tap tempo work?

Tap along with the music at least twice and the BPM is set from the average of your recent taps. Pause for more than 2 seconds and it starts counting again.

How does 6/8 work here?

Each eighth note is one click, so there are six per bar, with a higher first click when the accent is on. The BPM counts eighth notes too.

What if I switch tabs or turn off the screen?

Clicks are scheduled further ahead so they keep going, but depending on the browser or device they may wobble or stop. Keep this page open while you practise.

The sound lags the display on Bluetooth earphones.

Wireless audio can arrive late. The spacing between clicks stays even; for exact timing use the device speaker or wired earphones.

It's too quiet or too loud.

The volume starts low so it won't startle you. Adjust it with the volume slider and your device volume.
