Add Text to a Photo

Type it, place it, save it at the photo’s own size.

Everything happens on this device.

How to use

  1. Open a picture and type your text. Several lines are fine.
  2. Set size, colour, outline and shadow; drag the text where it belongs or use the nine quick positions.
  3. Save as PNG or JPG — the text is drawn at the picture’s full resolution, not the preview size.

Examples

A caption over a photo

Two lines, centred at the bottom, white with a dark outline — the combination that stays readable on almost any picture.

Text that keeps its size

The size is a share of the picture, so what you see on the preview is what lands on a 4000px original.

Hard to read on a busy photo

Turn the outline up, or switch the shadow on. Both are drawn under the letters, so the shape of the text stays clean.

Picking the colour from the photo itself

To take a colour out of the picture and reuse it here, read it first. Image Color Picker

FAQ

Which fonts can I use?

It uses fonts already on your device (sans, serif, mono); nothing is downloaded. That keeps the page light and the text looking native.

The text is hard to read

Turn on an outline or shadow to keep text readable on busy photos. White text with a dark outline is the safest pairing.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Compositing and saving happen in your browser.
