Add Border to Photo
Add a border and round the corners. PNG keeps the corners transparent.
The border is added around your picture without cropping it. PNG saves rounded corners as transparent, but JPG has no transparency, so the corners are filled with the background color you pick.

Wrap a colored border around the edge of a photo and round off its corners. Add inner padding for a frame look, and raise the corner roundness to 50% to turn a square photo into a circle.
How to use
- Choose a photo.
- Adjust the border color and width, padding and corner roundness.
- Pick PNG or JPG and download.
Examples
800×600 + 20px + 10px → 860×660px
A 20px white border plus 10px padding on an 800×600 photo makes an 860×660px result. Add 10% outer corner roundness and the outer corner radius is 66px; saved as PNG, everything outside that corner is transparent.
FAQ
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The photo is processed only in this browser and is not saved or sent. It is gone when you close the tab.
Is the photo cropped or made smaller?
No. The border and padding are added outside the photo, so the picture keeps its size and only the result image grows. Saving as JPG does compress it again, though.
Should I save as PNG or JPG?
Pick PNG if you want the area outside rounded corners to stay transparent. JPG has no transparency, so the corners are filled with your background color, but the file is usually smaller.
Can I make the photo a circle?
On a square photo, set corner roundness to 50% and you get a circle. A rectangle becomes a pill shape with rounded ends. If it isn't square, crop it first with the image crop and resize tool.
What is the difference between outer corners and photo corners only?
Outer corners rounds the whole shape, border included. Photo corners only keeps the border square and rounds just the picture inside it.
How large a photo can I use?
The result must be at most 16,384px on each side and at most 40 million pixels. If it's over, use a thinner border or padding, or a smaller photo.
