Text to Speech
Paste something and have the device read it out.
The voices belong to your device, so the list is different on every computer and phone.
This voice runs on the provider's servers, so the text may be sent there. Voices without the "online" tag stay on this device.
There is no MP3 button: the browser plays the audio and does not produce a file.
The text stays in this browser unless an online voice is chosen.
How to use
- Paste the text and pick a voice. The list is whatever your device has installed.
- Set the speed and the pitch, then press Play. Long text is read sentence by sentence.
- Pause and resume at any point; Stop goes back to the beginning.
Examples
Proofreading by ear
A sentence that reads fine often sounds wrong. Hearing it back catches what the eye skips.
A script, timed
Set the speed you would actually speak at and listen through — that is roughly how long it runs.
Text with line breaks all over it
Text copied out of a PDF reads in fragments. Joining the lines first makes it read as sentences. Line Break Remover
Why there is no download
The browser plays the audio; it never hands back a file, so nothing can be saved as MP3 from here.
FAQ
Can I download an MP3?
No. Built-in browser voices play audio only and cannot export a file.
Why do voices differ by device?
Voices come from your OS and browser, so they vary.
Is my text sent anywhere?
On-device voices send nothing; voices marked "online" may use the provider's server.
