Image Size Checker
Shows an image's width and height in pixels, file size, ratio and format.
This reads the information stored in the file on your device and doesn't change the image. Phone photos taken upright show width and height as they appear (EXIF rotation applied).
Choose images to see each one's width and height in pixels, megapixels, file size, aspect ratio and format on a card. Add several at once to compare them, or copy everything as a table. Images are read on this device only and are not changed.
How to use
- Choose one or more images.
- Check the pixel size, file size and ratio on each card.
- If you need to change the size or file size, use the card buttons to open the right tool.
Examples
A 4032 × 3024 px photo
A 4032 × 3024 px photo shows as 12.2 MP with a 4:3 ratio. If the same photo was taken upright and carries rotation info, it shows as 3024 × 4032 with "Stored as 4032 × 3024". A file of 2,621,440 bytes shows as 2.50 MB.
FAQ
Are my images uploaded?
No. File details are read inside your browser and never sent or stored anywhere.
My upright photo shows width and height swapped elsewhere. Why?
Phones often store a photo sideways with an EXIF note saying how to rotate it. This tool shows the size as you see it and also lists the stored size.
How are KB and MB calculated?
1 KB is 1,024 bytes and 1 MB is 1,024 KB. Some places count in thousands instead, so check the exact byte count in brackets.
Why is the ratio shown as a decimal like 1.78:1?
When the smallest whole-number ratio still has a term over 50, it's shown as a decimal to stay readable. For example, 1366 × 768 reduces to 683:384, so it shows as 1.78:1.
Which formats does it read?
JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP and BMP are read straight from the start of the file. Other formats show a size only if your browser can open them.
How many images at once?
Up to 50 at a time. Clear the list and choose again to check more.
