Reference only. The romanization follows the Revised Romanization rules, but an official road-name address in English can differ — check it on the government address service (https://www.juso.go.kr/) before using it for delivery or customs. Terms

How to use

  1. Paste the address as you would write it in Korean, largest unit first: province or city, district, road and building number.
  2. Put the apartment, floor or building name in the second box — it goes on Address Line 2.
  3. Copy each field into the form. Every box stays editable, so fix anything the parser read differently.

Examples

Seoul, road-name address

서울특별시 강남구 테헤란로 123 becomes Address Line 1 “123 Teheran-ro”, Line 2 “Gangnam-gu”, City “Seoul”, Country “Republic of Korea”.

An apartment in a province

경기도 성남시 분당구 판교역로 235, 101동 1203호 gives Line 1 “235 Pangyoyeok-ro”, Line 2 “101-1203, Bundang-gu”, City “Seongnam-si”, State “Gyeonggi-do”.

Old lot-number address

서울특별시 강남구 역삼동 737 still works: the dong and lot number become Address Line 1 “737 Yeoksam-dong”.

Numbered side road

서초대로78길 is written “Seocho-daero 78-gil”, not “Seochodaero78gil” — the number keeps its own place in the name. A 번길 road keeps the number attached instead: 시민로5번길 is “Simin-ro 5beon-gil”.

FAQ

Is my address sent anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded or stored.

What goes on Address Line 1 and Line 2?

Line 1 is the building number and the road (or the dong and lot number). Line 2 is the finer detail — unit, floor, building name — followed by the gu, eup or myeon. Both are editable. On one line the unit moves to the front, as in the examples of the government address service (juso.go.kr): 101-1203, 235 Pangyoyeok-ro, Bundang-gu. That order is a recommendation, not a fixed rule.

Road-name or lot-number address — which can I use?

Both are read. Road-name addresses are the current standard; a lot-number address is converted as dong plus lot number.

Are the City and ZIP always right?

They are filled in when the address contains them, and left empty when it does not — a postal code is only taken from a five-digit number you typed. Nothing is guessed.

Why does the official English address look different?

Road names have an official English form that can differ from a letter-by-letter romanization, and some buildings have a registered English name. The government address service shows the official line.

How do I romanize a personal name?

Names follow different conventions from addresses — use the romanizer for those. Korean Romanizer
