CSV ↔ JSON Converter
Paste a spreadsheet, take JSON — or the other way round.
To indent or check the JSON itself: JSON Formatter
The file is read in this browser and nothing is sent.
How to use
- Pick the direction, then paste the data or open a .csv, .tsv or .json file.
- For CSV, say whether the first row names the columns. The delimiter is detected but you can set it.
- Copy the result or save it. Saving a CSV for Excel is what the BOM option is for.
Examples
An export with commas inside the cells
A line like "Kim, A","said ""ok""" is two cells, not four: quoted values keep their commas and their quotation marks.
Rows that are not all the same width
A row with fewer cells than the header is still converted, and the row number is listed above the result so you can go and look at it.
JSON whose objects differ
Objects with different keys produce the union of those keys as the header, in the order they first appear; a missing one becomes an empty cell.
JSON that will not parse
The error says where it stopped. For working on the JSON itself, the formatter is the better page. JSON Formatter

What about commas or line breaks inside cells?
Yes. Quoted values are parsed per RFC 4180.
Korean looks broken in Excel
Enable "UTF-8 BOM" when saving so Excel reads Korean correctly.
Is my file uploaded?
